SAMANATA- Institute for Social & Gender Equality has been working in the area of Women and Peace Building for several years in Nepal, in particular since the insurgency took place in the country. Over the years it has taken the lead in initiating alliances such as Women’s Alliance for Peace, Power, Democracy And Constituent Assembly (WAPPDCA). SAMANATA has also been an active member of Shanti Malika and has played an active role in conducting pioneering researches focusing on impacts of conflict on women, conducting training on peace, as well as orientation on 1325 to varied stakeholders.
