Rural Women Peace Link (RWPL), Kenya
RWPL is a network of grassroots women’s organizations in areas affected by armed conflict in the western part of Kenya. RWPL works through 14 networks working for peace in their local communities. The Peace Link, created in 1999, is creating a platform to enhance the visibility and the silent voices of local women in conflict situations. RWPL enables the Peace Link to access information and opportunities to share experiences and expertise that is both relevant and specific to the environment. RWPL has been empowering women and girls to become active citizens and agents of change in communities affected by ethnic and gender based violence.
