Fountain-ISOKO for Good Governance and the Integrated Development, Burundi
Fountain-ISOKO was created in 2006 by a group of people with background in international and national NGOs promoting peace building and good governance as pillars of lasting development. Fountain-ISOKO is an NGO for women and men committed to work hand in hand as allies to build a just society and bring positive change in Burundi and the Great Lakes Region of Africa. Fountain-ISOKO is the fruit of people who developed their expertise in research and educational process in the following areas:
- Gender Sensitivity Active Non Violence;
- Conflict Mitigation, Management and Transformation;
- Leadership and Group Dynamic;
- Conception, Implementation, Resources Mobilization and Monitoring & Evaluation of community Development projects; and
- Governance
ISOKO’s mission is to promote a competitive and entrepreneurial culture for active non-violence and lasting development in Burundi.
The global objective is to contribute in the Burundian peace building and good governance processes to be achieved through the following specific objectives:
- To valorize and to promote a culture of good governance, entrepreneurial and merit
- To involve leaders and citizens to the positive change influencing positively their behaviors and attitudes for the promotion and the protection of the human rights
- To contribute to the restoration of the intra-communities trusting
- To develop a participative approach for the auto-hold in economic charge for the most vulnerable categories
The strategy orientation of Fountain-ISOKO is to lead the research, trainings and studies and to share experiences through activities in which women and youth become actors of good governance, peace building and an integrated development process.
