Panel discussion on the overall outcomes of GNWP’s civil society monitoring of UNSCR 1325

  • Information: Co-organized by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, Cordaid and the Mission of Canada, this event will mainly be a panel discussion on the overall outcomes of GNWP’s civil society monitoring of UNSCR 1325. The countries monitored are: Afghanistan, Burundi, Canada, Colombia, DRC, Liberia, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, Spain, Sweden and Uganda.

International Women Peacebuilders in NY to Ensure UN Gender Focus Post-Peace Prize: Public Event to Feature Women Leaders from Pakistan, Georgia, Sri Lanka, Philippines and Serbia

Taking Women Beyond 1325, a Roundtable

  • Location: 10th Floor, Church Center – 777 United Nations Plaza #3E, New York, U.S.A.
  • Information: The roundtable aims to present concrete conclusions from the discussions of the week on ‘Taking Women Beyond 1325’. To develop specific recommendations on how the UN can move beyond 1325 and promote the role of women in conflict prevention, which can be fed into the Open Debate on 1325 in the UNSC. Aside from some of GPPAC’s GFPs, another speaker during this event will be Ambassador Anwarul K. Chowdhury, Former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the UN.
    The roundtable aims to present concrete conclusions from the discussions of the week on
    ‘Taking Women Beyond 1325’. To develop specific recommendations on how the UN can move
    beyond 1325 and promote the role of women in conflict prevention, which can be fed into the
